DEAN OF ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

The Dean of Enrollment Management provides strategical and operational leadership for enrollment management that aligns with Columbia-Greene Community College’s (C-GCC) mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The Dean reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Student Development, Strategic Initiatives (VPAASDSI) and collaborates with the faculty, administration staff, community stakeholders, and high school educators to further the College’s enrollment strategy. In particular, the Dean of Enrollment Management will collaborate with the Director of Marketing/Communications to develop a comprehensive plan to drive awareness, build brand affinity, and maximize strategic enrollment efforts. The Dean will ensure that recruitment and marketing efforts generate forward-thinking ideas to build and sustain robust enrollment growth.

 

 

The Dean of Enrollment Management oversees the following areas: Admissions, Financial Aid, Welcome Center, and Marketing.

 

 

Columbia-Greene Community College, a campus of the State University of New York (SUNY), is a comprehensive college offering a variety of transfer and career programs leading to the degrees of Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, and Associate in Occupational Studies, as well as microcredentials, one-year certificate programs, and specialized courses geared toward community interests.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

  • Design and implement an enrollment growth strategy plan for C-GCC in collaboration with the Enrollment Team (Director of Marketing, Director of Financial Aid, and Admissions Staff), and VPAASDSI.
  • Develop and implement College-wide recruitment and admissions activities that meet the College’s enrollment goals as well as distribute progress reports to the VPAASDSI. Works with VPAASDSI and the Office of Institutional Research to develop enrollment goals and monitor performance toward achieving those goals.
  • Provide leadership, direction, advocacy, and administrative oversight for all members of the enrollment services team while promoting excellence and integrity.
  • Together with the Director of Marketing/Communications, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that incorporates diverse methods of communications including social media and emerging technologies.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and enhance relationships with high school counselors, teachers, principals, and superintendents in the College’s service area.
  • Build pipelines for increasing enrollment in credit and non-credit programs.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Student Development, the Dean of Academic Affairs and other campus leaders to ensure retention and completion efforts are effective and impacting the student experience.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Administration Office to ensure synthesis with systems and processes.
  • Work closely with faculty to effectively promote the College’s academic programs.
  • Supervise support staff responsible for recruitment, admission, outreach, and employer services.
  • Utilize data to identify trends in enrollment, strategies for student recruitment and conversion from acceptance to admission as well as persistence to completion.
  • Ensure that applications are processed in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Recommend and administer admissions-related policies and procedures.
  • Plan, develop, and administer the annual budgets in assigned units: make recommendations on budget and financial data; monitor, control, and authorize expenditures in accordance with established budget procedures; and maintain appropriate records.
  • Expand, develop, and coordinate relationships with community organizations designed to increase enrollment and success of all students, including historically underrepresented student populations.
  • Oversee student information systems and data management that ensure collection, maintenance, protection, and use of student data to support data-informed enrollment services and enable tracking, reporting, and analyzing key metrics regarding student completion.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research on the integrity and use of data to inform internal and external reporting.
  • Oversee marketing, outreach, recruitment, and admissions processes, aligning them with the College's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the Office of Financial Aid, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maximizing the availability of aid and support for eligible students.
  • Ensure the Welcome Center fulfils the College’s mission and operates in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Serve on College committees and provide leadership to College committees as assigned.
  • Act as the College's liaison to external agencies and organizations regarding enrollment services.
  • Ensure CRM and other IT systems are operating effectively in advancing the mission of the College and department.
  • Provides oversight to pre-entry testing requirements in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
  • Responsible for international student program support, serving as the College’s principal designated school official (PDSO).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Attributes

 

 

  • Strong leadership, management, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment policies and procedures.
  • Superior oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well versed in current and successful enrollment and recruitment trends.
  • Knowledge of statistical and evidence-based methods for developing enrollment projections.
  • Experience using the Banner student information system (Banner 9 preferred).
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and other technologies (e.g. A.I.) that enhance the work of admissions and marketing.
  • Ability to develop measurable outcomes and assessment strategies to formulate data-driven decisions.
  • Affinity for working effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with diverse populations.
  • Willingness to actively engage with state and/or national enrollment management and admissions organizations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in education, leadership, counseling, student development, or related fields of study.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible enrollment management, admissions services, or student development experience.

 

 

Salary and Benefits Information

Annual salary range $90-95K and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
